Chapter Eleven

“Tell me what you like, what you want.”

Lizzie’s cheeks darkened with color as he watched her, waiting for her to tell him of her needs, her wants. She shook her head. “I cannot. I don’t know what I want.”

“What about this? Do you want this?” he asked as his lips moved down the side of her face, his breath hot, his mouth leaving a moist, warm trail of pleasure. Chills shuddered through her as he nuzzled where her neck joined her shoulder.

“Yes,” she groaned, while moving her head to one side to grant him more than adequate space. “Oh yes, I do like that.”

“And this? What if I did this,” he asked as he pulled away and placed a lone finger upon each shoulder. For a long moment, he did nothing but watch her. He smiled then allowed each finger to slide slowly down her chest until they reached her nipples. There, he smiled again to find the tips hard. “Are these aching for my touch?”

She moaned a soft sound of pleasure. It took a few seconds for his words to penetrate her passion-dazed mind, but once they did, she stiffened noticeably, raised one brow and gave him a hard look. “Aching for your touch?” she repeated in a voice all too reminiscent of her oft-used sarcasm.

He laughed at her obvious denial. “You know there was once a lady I knew who never lied. I often wonder what became of her.”

“Yes, I believe I’ve heard of her as well. It’s said she fell in with a bad lot.”

“And hasn’t stopped lying since?”

“Beast,” she said.

“And what’s this lot stuff? If I remember correctly, it was a man, one man.”

“You might be right. It could have been just one man,” she said. “One particularly aggravating and all-around lecherous sort, I’m told. Poor girl, she never had a chance. Some say he was a warlock.” She shrugged. “Probably, they were right.”

He gasped at the luscious sight of her movement. “I love it when you shrug,” he said as his finger tried to jiggle her flesh and cause it to move again as another shrug might. “Do you think he put a spell on her?”

She inhaled sharply, deeply, only to release her breath in jagged, uneven gusts, her eyes closed as she was obviously growing lost in his touch. “What? Oh,” she nodded, “some believe he did.”

“More likely, she put a spell on him. What else can account for the fact he can’t stop touching her, thinking about her, wanting her?” He flicked her hardened nipple with a nail and watched as she gave the slightest shudder and uttered a near soundless moan. Instinctively craving more, her back arched, her body moved toward his, and she came treacherously close to begging him to never stop. He bit his lip, obviously holding back the urge to laugh, as their gazes met, because they both knew she barely managed to stop the words. “What were you going to say?”

“Nothing,” she said, and a nerve twitched in her cheek.
